A few clear rules for our little learning world.

1. Agreement

By downloading, accessing, or using Lingo Pal, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the iOS app. If these terms conflict with that agreement, the agreement required by Apple controls to the extent of the conflict.

2. The service

Lingo Pal is a language-learning app that offers short lessons and a virtual-pet experience. While an eligible membership is active, the service generally makes one new lesson available per learning day. A learning day begins at 4:00 AM in the timezone recorded on your profile. Lesson availability, content, and features may change as the service evolves.

Lesson content is educational material, not professional translation, travel, legal, medical, or emergency advice. Do not rely on it where an incorrect phrase could create significant harm.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping control of the phone number and device used to access your account. Do not share a one-time sign-in code. Tell us promptly if you believe someone accessed your account without permission.

Information you provide must be accurate and lawful. You may delete your account from inside the app at Settings → About & account → Delete account. See our account deletion guide for the complete effect.

4. Memberships and purchases

Auto-renewable membership

The app may offer an auto-renewable monthly membership that unlocks new daily lessons. The App Store purchase screen shows the price, currency, billing period, and any eligible introductory offer before you confirm. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.

Your membership renews automatically unless canceled through your Apple Account before the end of the current period under Apple’s rules. You can use Restore purchases in the app when signed in with the Apple Account that made the purchase. Prices, taxes, territories, refunds, and billing are administered under Apple’s terms.

Revive consumable

A Revive is an optional consumable purchase. Once verified and consumed, it restores the same pet world with the saved XP and level described at purchase. A Revive is not a permanent membership and does not grant continuing lesson access. Purchase credits and refunds are verified with Apple and our billing provider; duplicate or reversed transactions do not create duplicate credit.

Manage or cancel your Apple subscription from the app or through Apple’s subscription management page. Deleting the app or your Lingo Pal account does not cancel Apple billing.

5. Learning progress and pet worlds

Completing the required lesson steps feeds the current pal, records progress, and may award XP. Pet deadlines are calculated using server time, not the time shown by your device. If a full required learning day is missed, the current pet world may end under the rules shown in the app.

Learned-sentence progress is independent of pet worlds. It is not reset by a world ending, starting a free new world, using a Revive, membership inactivity, sign-out, or reinstall. Membership inactivity pauses pet deadlines and access to new lessons under the current product rules.

6. Acceptable use

You may not:

• abuse, automate, probe, disrupt, or overload sign-in, purchase, lesson, or support systems;
• attempt to bypass access controls, falsify a purchase, grant XP, or manipulate server state;
• reverse engineer the service except where applicable law expressly permits it;
• use the service to violate law, infringe rights, harass others, or distribute malicious material; or
• resell or commercially exploit the service or its content without written permission.

We may limit or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, providers, or the service; investigate fraud or misuse; or comply with law.

7. Availability, changes, and disclaimers

We aim to keep the service dependable, but internet access, SMS delivery, Apple services, notification delivery, widgets, and third-party providers can be delayed or unavailable. Notifications and widgets are conveniences; they do not determine game or learning state. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and without a guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

We may update features or these terms. Material changes will be communicated as required by law. Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights that cannot lawfully be limited. Any liability, dispute-resolution, governing-law, or jurisdiction rules in Apple’s applicable license terms continue to apply where required.
